The AGILOX Omnidirectional Dolly Mover (ODM) is the newest and smallest member of the Agilox product family. The ODM is designed for transporting smaller, lighter loads, and can maneuver into tighter spaces and through narrower aisles. With its narrow, center-oriented lift, the ODM is designed to autonomously pick up and move carts and dollys.
Dollys/carts are a mainstay for many logistics operations. Queuing material and items on carts can be critical to the logistics or manufacturing workflow. The AGILOX ODM automates the movement of material throughout a facility by freeing up humans from the task of pushing theses carts/dollys on the long paths between pickup and drop off locations.

Since AGILOX AMRs have no need for a central control system and can orient to the existing contours with millimeter precision, this eliminates time-consuming and costly modifications to the existing infrastructure. Autonomous route-finding also enables the vehicles to avoid obstacles unaided. If it is not possible to get past the detected obstacle due its size or the available clearance, the AMRs calculate a new route within seconds to reach their destination as quickly as possible. For customers, this means maximum freedom in their existing processes, because they do not have to adapt to the Autonomous Mobile Robot system. Instead, the system adapts to the customer’s processes.
Also, fully autonomous routing makes sure that the work goes smoothly and safely, even in mixed operations. Intelligent intralogistics solutions from AGILOX don’t need a master computer or navigation aids, so customers don’t have to do a lot of hard work to change them in advance. Once the logistics robots are put to work, they organize themselves according to the (decentralized) principle of swarm intelligence. This means that they share information with each other several times a second so that the whole fleet can figure out the best route and avoid any possible bottlenecks before they happen.
With AGILOX X-SWARM technology, customers no longer have to spend a lot of time coordinating their vehicles. This gives the customer flexibility because they can expand the vehicles’ range of operation in just a few minutes. It also means that it is easy to move an AGILOX AMR to use it temporarily in another part of the company or one of its subsidiaries. Since IO boxes allow AGILOX vehicles to talk to other machines or the building’s infrastructure, rolling doors or multiple floors are no problem for AMRs. This also means that customers have the most freedom to set up their production processes however they want.
AGILOX now has three different sizes and types of AMRs in its portfolio:
- AGILOX ONE – the original omnidirectional, pallet-moving AMR with a payload capacity of 1,000 kg (2,680 lbs).
- AGILOX OCF – the omnidirectional, counterbalanced pallet lifting AMR with a payload capacity of 1,000 kg (4,000 lbs) and a lift height of 1.6 m (5.25 ft).
- AGILOX ODM – the omnidirectional, dolly/cart carrying AMR.
